Organization
Plans and billing
Compare the Free, Starter, Pro and Enterprise plans, see your usage, upgrade or switch online, cancel, and know what happens when a limit is reached.
Every organization has a plan: Free, Starter or Pro, or a custom Enterprise plan. The plan sets how many dataset imports and training runs you can start each month, and how many published models, API requests, projects, members and API keys you can have, and how many API requests a minute and at once. Images are on Pro only; text use of any model is on every plan. Your plan is what you pay Tensorant. GPUs are separate: RunPod bills them to your own account. See What you pay for.
Open Settings at the foot of the sidebar and choose Plan and billing.
Before you start
- Everyone in the organization can see the plan and its usage. Only owners can upgrade, switch or open Manage billing. See roles.
The plans
Every new organization starts on Free. An owner can upgrade at any time.

A published model is a model the API serves. Pricing calls it a model deployment. Deployments you start for evaluations and the Playground don't count.
Images need Pro: importing image data, training and evaluating on images, and sending images to a model in the API or the Playground. Text use of any model, vision models such as Gemma 4 included, is on every plan. See Vision models.
Some counts have a limit on every plan. See Limits.
Enterprise
For larger teams, private deployments or custom limits, Enterprise has custom pricing. Write to [email protected]. The Plans panel has an Enterprise card with a Contact us button.
Your current plan
The plan panel shows your plan's name, price and where it comes from:
- Your subscription: the plan you subscribed to.
- The default plan: you have no active subscription, so Free applies.
- Set by the platform administrator: Tensorant set this plan for you, for example a custom Enterprise plan. To change it, choose Contact us on the plan you want, or write to [email protected].
While a subscription is active, the panel also shows its status and the date it renews.
What a plan limits
Each limit is shown with what you use now, such as "3 of 5". API requests a minute and at once aren't counts, so they show as a line below the others instead, such as "Up to 30 API requests a minute and 4 at once, across all API keys." A bar turns amber at 80% and red when you're over. A limit the plan doesn't set is unlimited.
| Limit | What counts |
|---|---|
| Dataset imports this month | Each file upload batch or Hugging Face import started this month. One that fails before importing anything doesn't count. |
| Training runs this month | Each training run started this month, including experiment and trial runs. One that fails or is cancelled before its GPU starts doesn't count. |
| Published models | Every published model, stopped ones too, until deleted |
| API requests this month | Requests to your published models this calendar month (UTC), errors included |
| API requests a minute | Requests in any 60 seconds, across all the organization's API keys. Listing models counts too. |
| API requests at once | Requests being answered at the same time, across all the organization's keys. A stream counts until it ends. More get 429 and should retry. |
| Projects | Every project. Deleting a project frees its slot at once. See Delete a project. |
| Members | Members, plus pending invitations. On Pro, 10 plus your extra seats, shown as "10 + 2 extra seats". |
| API keys | Keys that aren't revoked |
| API tokens this month | Prompt and answer tokens of those requests. No plan limits them today. |
Months are calendar months (UTC). Monthly counts start again on the 1st. Deleting a run, a source or a project doesn't give back the imports and training runs it used this month.
All the files you add in one upload count as one import. The console itself (Playground, evaluations and so on) doesn't count toward the API limits. See Keys and usage for usage per key.
When a limit is reached
Imports, training runs, published models, projects, members and API keys
Starting or adding one more than your plan allows is refused with a message like "Your plan (Plan) allows N projects." On Pro, more members need extra seats. Nothing you already have is stopped or removed. If your plan gets smaller, everything stays, but you can't add more of that kind until you're back under the limit. Monthly limits free up on the 1st.
Images
On Free and Starter, importing images, training or evaluating on images, and deploying, publishing or starting an adapter trained on images are refused with "Images and vision training are on the Pro plan." The Playground refuses attached images the same way, and the API answers a request with images 403 plan_upgrade_required. Deploying, publishing and calling a vision model with text works on every plan. An owner can upgrade.
API requests a minute
Past your plan's requests a minute, the API answers 429 rate_limit_exceeded with a message like "This organization sent too many requests this minute. Its plan (Plan) allows N a minute." The Retry-After header gives the seconds to wait. A refused request doesn't count. Each API key can also have its own, lower limit. See Limits per key.
A new plan's rate applies within a minute.
API requests at once
Past your plan's requests at once, the API answers 429 rate_limit_exceeded with a message like "This organization has N requests in flight, as many as its plan (Plan) allows." and Retry-After: 1. Retry after a moment, or send fewer requests in parallel. A refused request doesn't count toward any limit. Each API key can also have its own, lower Requests at once. See Limits per key.
A new plan's requests at once apply within a minute.
API requests and tokens a month
Monthly caps are strict. Each chat completion reserves one request and the model's full serving context window in tokens before inference. If that reservation will not fit, the API answers 429 quota_exceeded. The Retry-After header gives the seconds until next month (UTC); settling active requests or increasing the plan may free capacity sooner.
Complete answers with valid usage release unused token capacity. Missing usage, interrupted responses and accounting failures keep the full reservation charged to the admission month. See Keys and usage.
To keep serving, an owner can upgrade.
Upgrade your plan
The Plans panel lists Free, Starter and Pro with their prices and limits, and an Enterprise card. Your plan is marked Current plan.
- Choose Upgrade to Starter or Upgrade to Pro.
- A secure checkout page opens. Our payment provider, Dodo Payments, takes the payment and emails the invoices. Prices include any sales tax or VAT, which the provider works out for your country. Card details never reach Tensorant.
- Pay, and you return to Plan and billing. The new plan appears once the payment is confirmed, usually within a minute.
Plans renew every month on the date you first paid, until you cancel. If you leave the checkout page without paying, nothing changes and you can start again.
If your plan was set by Tensorant, the other plans show Contact us instead. Write to us and we'll change it.
Switch between Starter and Pro
While your subscription is active, the Plans panel offers Switch to Pro or Switch to Starter.
- Choose Switch to the plan you want.
- Read the confirmation and choose Switch to Plan.
- The new plan appears once the payment for the change goes through, usually within a minute.
A switch takes effect at once, and your billing period starts again that day. Your plan renews on that date from then on.
- You're charged a full month of the new plan, less a credit for the time left on your current plan. The credit is worked out by the days left in the current period.
- If the credit is larger than the charge, which is common when you move to Starter, the rest stays as credit on your subscription and pays toward its next renewals. It stays with this subscription and isn't moved to a new one.
- If the payment for the switch fails, you stay on your current plan.
After a switch, wait for the new plan to show before you switch again.
You can't switch while a payment is overdue. Update the payment method under Manage billing first.
Extra seats
Pro includes 10 seats. Each extra seat costs $30 a month. Extra seats aren't sold through checkout: Tensorant adds them and bills them separately.
The plan panel shows the extra seats you have. To add or give back seats, choose Need more seats? Contact us, or write to [email protected] with the number you want in total. Switching to Starter removes them, since Starter has no extra seats.
Manage billing
Each organization has its own billing account with our payment provider. It's created at the organization's first checkout, with the email address of the owner who checks out. After your first payment, owners get Manage billing on the plan panel. It opens the provider's billing page for this organization only: its subscription, payment methods and invoices. There you:
- update the payment method,
- download invoices,
- cancel the subscription.
Its back link brings you back to the console.
Cancel your subscription
Under Manage billing, choose Cancel Subscription, then either:
- Cancel at next billing date: you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. Then the organization moves to Free.
- Cancel now: the organization moves to Free at once.
The Free card on the Plans panel has a Cancel in Manage billing link that opens the same page. On Free, everything you have stays, but you can't add more of what's over Free's limits. See When a limit is reached. You can upgrade again whenever you like.
When a payment fails
If a monthly payment fails, the owners get an email. Update the payment method under Manage billing, and the payment is tried again.
- While the payment is overdue, you keep your plan for a short grace period.
- If it's still unpaid when the grace period ends, the subscription goes On hold and the organization moves to Free. Once you pay, your plan returns.
Subscription statuses
| Status | What it means | Plan that applies |
|---|---|---|
| Active | The subscription is paid | Your subscribed plan |
| Payment overdue | A renewal payment failed. Update the payment method under Manage billing. | Your subscribed plan, for a grace period |
| On hold | A payment failed and wasn't paid in time | Free, until it's paid |
| Paused | The subscription is paused | Free, until it resumes |
| Pending | Waiting for the first payment | Free |
| Cancelled, Failed or Expired | The subscription has ended. You can upgrade again. | Free |
When a payment is overdue or on hold, owners see a notice at the top of the console with a Plan and billing button.
What you pay for
| What | Who bills you |
|---|---|
| Your Tensorant plan | Tensorant. Free needs no payment. |
| GPUs for runs, deployments, experiments and published models | RunPod, in your own account. See What it costs. |
| Your network volume | RunPod, for as long as it exists |
| Model endpoints you add | Each endpoint's provider |
No plan includes GPU time. The hour and price limits on each run and deployment control that.
